Tyler
9 year-old boy with Fibrous Dysplasia.

Specialists recommended very invasive surgery to correct Tyler’s deteriorating and painful disease. Their advice required successive re-operations and bone grafts with a long recovery. Lynx found a nationally renowned specialist who performed an effective outpatient procedure and Tyler was back in action in 6 weeks.

“Our thanks again to the Lynxcare group for not putting our son through the morbidity of the surgery as suggested by our first opinion surgeon, and giving him a ‘kids’ lifestyle of playing, after being handed such a dramatic card in life. Our journey was smoother… thank you.”
— Anne, Tyler’s mom

Terry
59 year-old man in rural New Zealand, with infected mechanical heart valve and subsequent stroke.

Local doctors told the family that Terry would soon experience a fatal stroke which they were helpless to prevent. Lynx’s infectious disease consultant identified drugs to control the infection and suggested surgical therapy. The drugs initially worked, but when the valve began to fail because the treating doctors hadn’t followed the recommended protocol, Terry was transferred to an international medical center, where he experienced a full recovery after surgery.

“The information you gave us made us push the doctors here to do whatever it took to make Terry better. The concern was that the doctors in the hospital here were not competent to perform the operation, but as we understood there was an operation that could be performed, we were confident to push for doctors to find a surgeon who could do it.”
— Bridget, Terry’s wife

Olivia
8 year-old girl with severe scoliosis and connective tissue disorder.

Olivia’s 100º scoliosis had been somewhat controlled by serial plaster casts, however, her lungs were becoming compromised. The only procedure seeming to offer a chance of survival was still investigational. Lynx compiled Olivia’s Health Record Summary and transmitted it to a nationally recognized connective tissue expert, anesthesiologist, and geneticist. They designed a treatment plan with her surgeons and orthopedists to fit Olivia’s unique physiology. The surgery was successful and today Olivia is healthy and active.

“I will always hold a special place in my heart for Lynx and the work they do to ensure the health of their participants. Their team of professionals worked diligently to help provide the answers I needed to make the decision to proceed with a lifesaving surgery, taking into account my daughter’s very complex condition. Lynx gave our family peace of mind, for which we will always be grateful.”
— Heather, Olivia’s mom

Kati
34 year-old woman with Syringomyelia.

Kati’s symptoms led her to discover she had syringomyelia, a condition involving her spinal cord. But, some of her treating doctors were skeptical regarding her symptoms her evaluation was incomplete. Lynx compiled her Health Record Summary, researched options for treating doctors, and obtained suggestions from nationally respected experts regarding her evaluation and treatment. At her request, Lynx also identified a local therapist performing energy healing. Today, Kati has few symptoms and is fully engaged in her life.

“If I could kiss you via email, I would! Thanks so much – I feel very prepared for this appointment and for the future…you are such an answer to prayer... lots of prayer.”
— Kati

Moriah
8 year-old with Idiopathic Infantile Scoliosis.

Born with a congenital heart defect and scoliosis, Moriah had experienced a lifetime of major surgeries, was on a ventilator with 24 hour nursing, and had progressive spinal deformity despite two spinal fusions. Her family was reluctant to perform another fusion, and asked Lynx to investigate other options. Lynx compiled her extensive medical records into a Health Record Summary to facilitate consultation and advocacy on her behalf with specialists whose chest-expanding treatment offered better hope of survival. Since her surgery, Moriah has experienced marked reduction of her deformity, improved cardiac function, and is completely free of the ventilator.

“Our daughter’s life would be different, for the worse, without the assistance of Lynx. We are grateful daily for the way Lynx has impacted our daughter’s health and quality of life. Moriah’s Health Record Summary and case file still overwhelms me. I really love the organization. I’m glad to know the information is there for me to access.”

— Shellie, Moriah’s mom
